RSG4 (Elite)

RSG4 is the final level in our development program.

The emphasis of the RSG4 progression is twofold.  Firstly, participating athletes will follow the most sophisticated development curriculum available today.  Through this level, they will be exposed to advanced tactical, positional, and transitional training; high repetitions enable the goaltender to make real change in their technical response.  Secondly, while many goaltenders develop strong technical assets, they are not mentored in the instinctive, competitive and anticipatory skill sets.  Expansion of these intangibles is often the missing piece of the puzzle and therefore a major focus of the RSG4 progression.

Goaltenders will focus on honing exceptional movement mechanics and establishing a strong understanding of technical components through exposure to high repetitions of conceptual development.

Through the countless unique experiences a goaltender undergoes in their career, they begin to build an individual approach.  This approach combines these experiences with core fundamentals plus the distinct strengths and limitations of the actual netminder.  While working with us, athletes will seek to hone, refine, and repackage this distinct approach.  This is the root of our teaching philosophy.

RSG4 is ideally suited for goaltenders in the following categories:

  • Are Bantam, Midget or Junior age;
  • Have attended RSG or other specialized goaltending programs in the past;
  • Have a high “Level of Play” indicator;
  • Demonstrate strong aspirations to compete at elite levels (AAA, HPP, Junior A, Major Junior, etc.); or,
  • Are on the bubble between RSG3 and RSG4 and want to make the jump to the next level; these goaltenders should be more aggressive with their camp choice.

The RSG4 curriculum is only available as a comprehensive summer training program and may be offered as a 4-week weekly program or in a weekend camp.
